Lulu Loves the farm...

Lulu Loves the farm...

I felt Lulu and I have been in a bit of a rut on our days together recently; toddler swimming, toddler groups, Library ryhme time... the same activities each week. She loves them but I started (and I think this has coincided with the Spring weather!) to feel a bit bored and I remembered that we won't have many days left to do as we please as before I know it she will be at school with the others.

With that I've decided that when the weather is good I will make more of an effort to get out and about with her...

Crochet - Easter Chicks

Crochet - Easter Chicks

Hello, I hope you all have had a lovely weekend and that the mothers' amongst you were spoiled a little on Sunday!  My lovely brood woke me with a cup of tea, some flowers and 3 fabulous handmade cards and then spoiled me further by taking me out for Sunday Lunch!

I've not done much in the way of crochet this week but I did manage to make some more Easter Chicks...

Knit Relief Auction

Earlier this week I blogged about finishing my granny scarves, one for Lulu and another that as yet did not have an owner; but whilst browsing Twitter this week I stumbled on Knit Relief and then it seemed like fate; this was where my scarf belonged...

Bertie Bear comes to stay...

Bertie Bear comes to stay...

Lulu was very happy to have been sent home from nursery Friday with Bertie Bear!  He arrived with his very own suitcase containing his toothbrush, flannel, comb, favourite bedtime book and his journal for us to write in!

To be honest with you I think I'll be glad when he goes back to nursery tomorrow, not because he's been a nuisance but because he's so small he's prone to getting lost...

Crochet - Granny Square Scarves

Crochet - Granny Square Scarves

We had a quiet kind of weekend and made the most of the sunshine in the garden by dusting down the garden furniture and having a bit of a tidy.  I also managed to finish one of the many crochet projects I have on the go; granny square scarves...

Crochet Pattern - Egg Cosy

My first pattern...

Crochet Pattern - Egg Cosy

I can't believe it's March already, it seems like only yesterday I was feeling that post Christmas drag and thinking Spring would be ages away - so Hooray for Spring!

I've been asked if I could make some egg cosies so I have been playing around with patterns. The first pattern I tried was from one of my books, it was a simple pattern but because of the yarn/hook I was using came out the size of a barbie hat (which is what it's now being used as) so I gave up and did my own thing instead...

Books we love

{February 2012}

World Book day is nearly here again (March 1st), Oli has already come home excited with his £1 book voucher, so I thought I'd do another book post.  Last year I went a bit crazy trying to pin down my favourite book EVER and completely stressed myself out! This year I've kept it simple by selecting the favourite books we've read this month - much easier!

Crochet - Dressing up Jars

Jar Covers

Crochet - Dressing up Jars

Whilst browsing Pinterest a while back I came some gorgeous pictures of crochet jar covers used to turn old jars into tea light holders and promptly put them on my ever-growing list of things to make, after a little hunt of the internet I managed to find one that I liked the look of.

I was so pleased with the result that after the first one I got a little addicted and carried on making them...

Crochet - Leftovers

A small crochet project

Crochet - Leftovers

Well that's nearly it for half term, the children are currently on a TD day and then tomorrow it's back to normality. Part of me craves the peace that comes with the children being at school the other part of me dreads the routine. I've not found the time to do much crochet at all but one small project I did complete was made with the crocheted leftovers from my last cushion cover...
