Valentines Crochet - Table Confetti

Happy Valentines 2012

Valentines Crochet - Table Confetti

I've crocheted lots of hearts before for bunting and embellishments but these are by far the easiest and quickest hearts I have ever made.  As I set about creating them I soon had a pile that would have made more hair clips than Lulu would ever wear and wondered what else I could use them for.  They looked great all over the table and then it came to me; 'Table Confetti' (I know my mind is just crazy sometimes) but this makes such a gorgeous decoration that I just had to share...

Crochet - A New Cushion

Crochet - A New Cushion

Hello February you are very welcome here!

I've been working on loads of little crochet projects over the winter.  My crochet buddy and I are planning on doing our first craft fair this year so we've been working on lots of new ideas. I'm feeling very positive and creative and have hugely enjoyed being able to try out new ideas and seeing them come together (some not all).

One of the things we are making lots of are cushion covers as they are easy and quick to make and are a great way to experiment with different colours/patterns...

Welcome 2012

Field of Light Exhibition - Holburne Museum

Welcome 2012

Happy New Year!

It's going to be a good one (here's hoping)...I've made a few simple resolutions this year and they pretty much resemble last years...Exercise more, learn more, see more etc as you can see they are pretty broad ;) I do believe in setting yourself goals short term & long term and while my children are young they are pretty simple goals but that's ok.  I feel i've learnt loads this year from learning to play chess (I got a bit nervous when my 5 year old picked it up quicker than me!) to learning to crochet.  The latter has had such a positive impact on my life and given me a chance to be creative again!

So to celebrate the new year we took the children to see Bruce Munro's Field of Light exhibition at The Holburne Museum...

So here it is...

...Merry Christmas: making, making, making!

So here it is...

It's a busy busy time of year for everyone, I've spent December frantically crocheting to get my Christmas orders out and I have a few days now to make some Christmas gifts (nothing like cutting it fine!) We've *Rob* made the cake and have been lovingly 'feeding' it all month the children have finally got to decorate it.  We've made snow globes 'a la Kirstie Alsop', decorated the tree, written cards, wrapped presents (will it ever end...?), watched 2 nativities, been to several carol services, listened to my new christmas album 'A Very She & Him Christmas' and watched 'The Grinch' and 'The Polar Express' A LOT, no one seems to want to watch my favourites: 'National Lampoons Christmas Vacation' or 'White Christmas' - I'll wait till they're in bed...

December Days

Ice Skating

December Days

December has finally arrived; days are shorter, nights longer and we're feeling the need to hibernate in front of a warm fire!  I've been really busy with my crochet projects and have been overwhelmed that people have actually requested some of my items to buy and give as Christmas gifts! I've had a lot of requests for hats and scarves and I've had to do a lot of experimenting with yarns/hooks to get different sizes and for the first time in my life I've found a use for Pi!

Amongst all this we are preparing for Christmas so I've been trying to find lots of things to do to get us in the mood for the festive period.  Ice skating seems such a perfectly 'wintry' thing to do so we headed off wrapped up early one morning to a garden centre close by with an outdoor rink for the holidays...
