To The Beach...

To The Beach...

The Sun is out! I can't quite believe it but it really is. After months of rain we did what most Brits enjoy when the sun makes an appearance and headed to the beach...

A Cowboy Birthday Party

Oli's 6th Birthday

A Cowboy Birthday Party

Hooray Oli has finally turned six - he has been counting down the days to his birthday for what seems like months now! We planned a Cowboy party at home for him and were hoping for sun so that we could play games and eat in the garden but it was not to be, so we cleared out the studio at the bottom of the garden and set to work making bits and pieces to make it feel like a saloon (well our interpretation of one anyway!)...

A Brief Pause...

Hello, just a quick post today to say I'm having a brief pause this week.  I have lots of lovely things planned for the blog, some new patterns and book reviews over the next few weeks, but this week has been non stop...

Reasons to celebrate

An Olympic Torch & A Birthday

Reasons to celebrate

What a hectic but fabulous week it's been. Tuesday the Olympic Torch passed through our Town, Oli finished school early & Rob took a long lunch break so we managed to watch the event as a family.  The weather was glorious and there was such an incredible spirit, we were really pleased to be able to watch the torch changing hands...

Disneyland Paris & New Additions

Bertie Bear comes to stay...

Bertie Bear comes to stay...

Lulu was very happy to have been sent home from nursery Friday with Bertie Bear!  He arrived with his very own suitcase containing his toothbrush, flannel, comb, favourite bedtime book and his journal for us to write in!

To be honest with you I think I'll be glad when he goes back to nursery tomorrow, not because he's been a nuisance but because he's so small he's prone to getting lost...

Sisters

Lulu loves her big sister

Sisters

When I was young I often thought it would be great to have a sister.  I have a younger brother and we were polar opposites growing up, my mum said that I stopped wanted to play with him the minute he refused to do what I told him (I think this is a bit harsh but was probably somewhat true)!  As adults we have grown much closer and I now really enjoy spending time with him (we have a more balanced relationship now *ahem*).  But I am glad Lulu has a big sister as well as a big brother, I think she'll have the best of both worlds.  Already I can see their relationship developing and it is sometimes breathtaking to watch...

The Dummy Diaries

Lulu Loves and Loses

The Dummy Diaries

Lulu has a dummy, well she has lots of dummies hidden in various locations around the house.  Lulu loves her dummy but now it is time for it to leave her.  This has been on my mind for a few months now, how do we remove the dummy?  The other two didn't have dummies so I am a complete novice at this particular conundrum, I've heard all sorts of dummy stories in the past few months but I was finding it hard to put anything into action.  And then it happened...
