Catching Up and A Giveaway Winner
Thank you to everyone who entered the giveaway for the 'Girls' Night In' book. I really enjoyed the blog tour and reading about your favourite crafts. I'm a bit late posting this week as it's been non-stop here but I wanted to stop by and have a catch up as well as announce the winner of the giveaway...
I used random.org to pick a winner. Discounting Claire's comment (Claire already has a copy - you can read her review here) the numbers 2-25 were entered and the winner was:
Comment Number 24: Emmasblethers
Congratulations Emma, if you could email me your address I will get it sent out to you :)
Things have been so busy here this week, Lulu's been poorly and I've been trying to squeeze in work and organising K's birthday around her. When K was 9 I asked her what she would like for her birthday and she said: 'a bunch of flowers like you get on yours' - I thought that was the sweetest thing. Every year since then I've given her flowers on her birthday to put up in her bedroom. This year I found one of these mini flowering plants - I'll see how she gets on with it. I'm not very good with houseplants I either forget to water or over water - I'm hoping that's not something I've passed on!
Last year (after the birthdays were done for the year) I tried to get organised and created a 'birthday box' where I could store my ridiculous collection of paper napkins. I felt quite happy when I remembered it this afternoon!
I still can't believe I am going to be the mother of a 13 year old. I was 20 when I had K and I remember being so fearful of letting her down. She's taught me so much about myself and motherhood, given me strength, unconditional love and made me determined to be the best I can be. I'm so proud of the woman that she is becoming; loving, kind, smart, thoughtful, funny & loyal (and increasingly camera shy!). My birthday wish for her, as always, is a life of fulfillment, love and good health (and the hope that I will be there to share it with her.)
Happy 13th Birthday my sweet, sweet girl.
Speaking of celebrating these two will be following shorty with their 4th and 7th birthdays. It's great to see how they've become such friends. I love this picture; to me it just sums up childhood. I took it with my iPhone on the Bank Holiday, the circus had arrived at a field nearby and they were both desperate to go. I snapped this as we were about to walk home after the show when they were still full of magic.
Anyway, with Lulu's birthday only a few weeks away I've become determined to finish the blanket I started for her a year ago! I've been working on joining the squares most evenings. Sadly for me, I gave up sewing in the ends as I went along so I have a very big 'sewing in' session to look forward to shortly :(
I'm really happy with how it's looking so far and it's so soft - I'm using Rooster Almerino (love). There are several more rows to join and then I'm hoping to add a nice big border. I'm hoping that blogging my progress will help keep me focused (please keep me focused!)
So that's it for now, hopefully I will have something 'finished' to share soon.
Have a lovely weekend.
Bye for now. Em xx
