Crochet Collars
Hello. I hope you are having a lovely week. It’s Lulu’s birthday this week so I’m trying to get organised (when I say ‘trying’ I mean writing lots of lists and not really getting much done.) But I thought I’d pop in and share some images of the crochet collars I designed recently for Knitcrate...
Knitcrate is a knitting and crochet subscription box service for fibre artists (I love that term) around the world. Each box contains premium yarn from a different company each month, patterns and some sweet extras. You can subscribe for monthly or bi-monthly kits and there are lots of different packages to choose from for all levels of knitters/crocheters.
I had a lovely email from Andrea (who founded Knitcrate with her husband) saying they were branching out into crochet and would I be interested in working with them to design some crochet collars. Although I was apprehensive about designing for someone else (it’s scary new) I had wanted to make some more collars and when I heard I would be working with Knit Collage's Marhani Silk I was sold.
Andrea was so lovely to work with and was always happy to answer any concerns I had. I think the biggest challenge was writing the patterns in US terms (and so they could be understood - I still have my fingers crossed on that one!) but I had some useful feedback from her tester and that helped a lot.
So here are the three collars – cue lots of photos of me trying to avoid eye contact with the camera…
Because of the agreement with Knitcrate I can't post the patterns here for free but I may add them to my Ravelry account for a small fee if people are interested.
If you'd like to find out more about a knitting/crochet subscription service I really recommend checking out Knitcrate.
Have a great week.
Bye for now. Em xx
P.s just a quick reminder that my giveaway of Pearl Lowe's Vintage Craft is still open if you'd like the chance to win a copy. xx
