Crochet Podcast Episode 28

{04.02.20}

Hello. Didn’t January feel like the longest month…I spent mine crocheting lots of little projects and the enjoyment I got from them certainly helped me cope with the dreariness of the month…

Finished Items:

I finished this gorgeous crochet house. The pattern is from the adorable book Sweet Crochet by Sandrine DevezeI added some fabric bunting and changed the door a little and I absolutely love it. It serves absolutely no purpose other than making me smile each time I see it!

I also spent a happy week whipping up these crochet ruffle hearts. You can find all the details and the free pattern here on my blog.

Lastly, I’ve picked up my crochet beret again, this one was worked in Bernat Baby Velvet – I’m hoping to get the pattern written up for this one asap.

New Items:

I was sent some gorgeous cakes of Paintbox Recycled T-shirt Yarn from LoveCrafts in the prettiest pink shades. I’m excited to work with it, as I’ve never tried t-shirt yarn before. I’ll write a full review once I’ve had a play with it.

I bought my very first set of mini skeins from Hedgerow Yarns. They are adorable and I can totally see the reason they are so well-loved. I’m thinking of starting some sort of ‘minis’ project. It will be a slow burner for me though, so maybe by the end of the year, I’ll have something to show but for now!

Another project bag also found its way into my Etsy shopping cart. This little beauty is from The Fibre Fox and is just so pretty.

Lastly, I treated myself to a Little Women inspired pin from The Literary Emporium. They make the most beautiful gifts (particularly pins) inspired by classic novels. I can’t wait to add more to my collection!

Books:

My reading has definitely slowed down now the holidays are over but I did finish:

Normal People by Sally Rooney Although it took me a while to warm up to it I did enjoy it. It follows the relationship of two young people who meet at school and follows them through university. It’s definitely a refreshing read, as it deals with lots of issues young people have to cope with in a realistic way. It’s definitely not your traditional love story.

Currently reading:

Miss Austen by Gill Hornby I’ve just started this one – so I’ll let you know how it goes!

And that’s it for January! You can watch episode 28 of the podcast here on YouTube.

Bye for now, Em xx
