We love any excuse to celebrate in this house so when Rob offered to cook something special for Valentines Day everyone got very excited, yes it became apparent very quickly this would be a family affair! And why not? Valentines is about love and, failing a surprise romantic trip to Paris, what better way to spend the evening than surrounded by the people I love the most.
The table was laid with Love, whilst the champagne glasses waited expectantly...
Rob and his helpers created a lovely meal of steak with roasted butternut squash and asparagus. But it was the starter that really stole the show - Oysters Kilpatrick.
Wanting the children to experience oysters this was the perfect recipe. It involved frying chopped bacon and breadcrumbs, mixing double cream with a few dashes of Worcester Sauce and adding to the Oysters before grilling them. They looked fantastic, were delicious and the children really enjoyed them too!
