Sunshine Award

I've been very busy working on some new crochet patterns but I just wanted to check in to write about two lovely things have happened in the past week that have made me feel very happy about my little blog.

The first thing to cheer me was being nominated for a Sunshine Award by the lovely Donna who blogs at Little Acorns. From what I gather The Sunshine Award is a way for bloggers to acknowledge other great blogs, after answering some questions about yourself, you nominate 5 blogs you enjoy...

... I think it's a great way to show appreciation to some of the blogs you love to read.

I'm not sure where the questions came from originally or whether you will actually learn that much about me from them, but I am happy to answer them so here goes...

1. Your favourite colour?

I love all colour really, but if pushed I would say Green.  Any shade that reminds me of being outside.  If I'm feeling stressed or worn out I always feel revived if I can get outside somewhere green!

2. Your favourite number?

I don't think I have one, though when Rob occasionally does the lottery he'll ask us for numbers and 28 always pops into my head.  But it is the date we were married on so maybe that's why.

3. Your favourite animal?

I suppose it would be Cats I love their independent souls, although I don't like their muddy footprints on my walls/beds/sofas.  I also admire Lions although I wouldn't really like to get to close to one.

4. Your favourite non-alcoholic drink

I don't have one...;) Ok It's tea, lots of tea; but only builders tea - If it's going to be weak I'll have a coffee please.

5. Do you prefer Facebook of Twitter?

I have both, I like Facebook for keeping in touch with college/uni friends & family I don't see often enough but I don't like to post to often.  I actually favour Twitter at the moment as I've met lots of lovely and creative people who have the same interests as me and I don't feel I'm being annoying if I post yet another crochet photo!

6. What's your passion?

7. Do you prefer giving or receiving presents?

Giving and receiving are equally enjoyable - Of course I love getting gifts but I also love to make/choose gifts for people I love too.

8. Your favourite pattern

I couldn't really say but I'm always drawn to things with flowers on especially ditsy prints.

9. Your favourite day of the week

Fridays - They are always full of expectation.

10. Your favourite flower

Ranunculus or any wild flowers.

So there you have it, I like strong tea, flowers and have an odd obsession with the number 28...and here are five blogs I enjoy reading and would like to nominate:

Little Woollie For a lovely colourful blog full of crochet inspiration.

No More Disco A blog full of family life and crochet - Always makes me laugh.

Slugs on the refrigerator This is a gorgeous blog full of beautiful photography and crochet patterns yet is down to earth - and I love the title because I actually once found a slug party in my kitchen! (our house is OLD)

Daffodils and Snowdrops Emma was one of the first people I met on Twitter, her blog is full of inspiring ideas for the home.

Emma Bradshaw I just love this blog, it's full of things to do with children, recipes and being outdoors.  When it's raining and I need some green this is where I go!

I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

The second piece of news that gave me some blogging confidence was that my Crochet Coasters were featured on the very gorgeous One Sheepish Girl blog. It's really lovely to know that people outside my family read my blog and like what I do. So thank you to everyone who reads this I really appreciate you being here.

Bye for now. Em xx
