To The Beach...
The Sun is out! I can't quite believe it but it really is. After months of rain we did what most Brits enjoy when the sun makes an appearance and headed to the beach...
...We opted for one of our favourite sunny beach destinations a National Trust beach called Shell Bay, Studland in Dorset which according to the National Trust was the inspiration for Toytown in Enid Blyton's Noddy!
We left early with a cool-box full of picnic food and a boot full of blankets, towels, buckets and spades. It was heavenly to be able to relax by the sea (well as much as you can with young children.) I remember going to the beach as a child and it feels lovely to share these moments with our children; I hope they too will have fond memories of sunny days by the sea, eating egg rolls and ice-cream whilst looking forward to chips and cockles after a day of sun, sea and laughter.
I don't think the children could ever tire of the beach, and how could they when there is so much to do...
Collecting water for sand castles
Pretending to be lost on a desert island
Playing jungles in the sand dunes
Posing for photos
...We said 'Mermaid' she said 'Pirate'!
Or just making a bed out of sand!
Bye for now. Em xx
