Free Crochet Pattern – Halloween Web Collar

Free Crochet Pattern - Halloween Web Collar | Lululoves Blog

I love this time of year, particularly October with its rusty colours and smoky scents. Of course, the children love October for completely different reasons, Halloween being the main one. I won’t lie I am not oblivious to the charms of Halloween…I love to decorate the house, indulge in a few ghost stories and remember those we have lost. But for the children, it’s all about dressing up (and sweets). In honour of that, I have designed this easy crochet web collar….

{19.10.18}

I love the idea of wearing something that gives a nod to Halloween without having to go all out. I’ve added sparkle thread to mine to give those spider webs a little more magic.

I’ve found that I prefer to wear mine backwards as it really shows off those webs (be sure to block them if you want them to stand out). But it can be worn either way and I’ve only had to make one size, which seems to work for both my nine year old and me.

I’ve added some step-by-step photos to help and as always if you prefer to print your patterns I have created an inexpensive ad-free PDF version of this pattern. (*note: I have not added this yet but will be available in the next day or so here)

I really hope you enjoy them as much as I have.

Pattern notes

*Pattern is written in UK terms*

I have found this size collar works for both me and Lulu so I would suggest experimenting with yarn and hook size first but if you would like to try making one longer or shorter you can adjust the starting chain in multiples of 14 (remember to adjust the pattern repeats as you go along – for example if you add 14ch you will repeat pattern from * three times instead of twice)

{Pattern starts}

Foundation: Using yarn A & B together, ch58 (includes 1 turning ch)

Row 1: 1dc in second ch from hook, 1dc in each ch across, turn. (57dc)

Row 2: 3ch (counts as 1tr), 1tr in each of next 3 sts, *ch1, miss 3 sts, (1tr, ch1) five times in the next st, miss 3 sts, 1tr in each of next 7 sts; repeat from * twice more, ch1, miss 3 sts, (1tr, ch1) five times in the next st, miss 3 sts, 1tr in each of next 4 sts, turn. (49tr)
