Crochet Pineapple Hearts
The children are on their half term this week so I’ve not really had time to do any crocheting. But we’ve been busy with friends and family, trips to the cinema (we loved Wreck it Ralph), making pancakes & generally making a mess! However, I did find time at the weekend to make some of these cute pineapple hearts…
Happy Valentines Day
After posting a photo of one on Facebook & Instagram I had lots of requests for the pattern. I actually made my hearts using some vintage diagrams I had, but after a little search on line I found a link to something very similar on Ravelry (why do I ever look elsewhere?).
So if you’d like to have a go at these they are very simple (I know they don’t look it but trust me). Here is the link. The main difference that I can see is the edging – If you’d like to make edging like mine you need to work shells of 7/8 trebles (US Doubles) through every other row all the way around the edge, making smaller shells in the centre part of the heart – I made a small shell either side using 4 trebles. I worked one shell into the bottom point of the heart.
I made mine with some 6ply cotton that I had lurking around and a 4mm hook. It measured about 9″ wide and 7″ tall, perfect for a small doily, potholder or decoration. If you are using the pattern in the link it’s probably best to go with what’s suggested.
Wishing you a day full of love and happiness ♥
Bye for now. Em xx
