Lululoves Crochet Podcast Episode 3

By Published On: October 19th, 2017Categories: Crochet and Crafts, Crochet Podcast2.9 min readTags:

Episode three of the lululoves crochet podcast is now live… and for some reason I was feeling particularly chatty in this one…

{19.10.17}

You can watch the podcast here if you’d like too. I won’t go over everything mentioned in the podcast but I’ve listed the main projects below with all the links to items mentioned:

Finished Items

Sitka Spruce Mitts from the Accessories Project book.

This pattern is by Kat Goldin and is simply beautiful. I used my scrumptious 4ply and a 4mm hook. Mine are coming up slightly small but I’m going to make another pair using some thicker yarn because I LOVE them.

Giant Bobble Cowls

I made two of these cowls using chunky yarns. The free pattern and yarn details can be found here on my blog. I also talk a LOT about my giant bobble experiments with different sized yarns on the podcast…. such fun!

Rustic Lace Pumpkin

I used my leftover yarn from the cowls to make these adorable pumpkins. The pattern is a free one from the blog MegMadeWithLove. I worked my doily with a 2.5mm and the pumpkin with a 6.5mm. These are so simple to make and such a fun seasonal project.

WIPs

I’m still working on the jumper I spoke about in my last podcast, I’m really enjoying the bobbles and filet together but I was unhappy with the beginning so I’ve started again. It’s working up lovely now.

I’ve started working on a shawl with the Scheepjes swirl I bought. The pattern I’m using is the Lost In Time shawl. The pattern is a free one and can be found on the Mijo Crochet website. I’m struggling a bit with this one…the pattern is beautiful but I’m wondering if my mood is seeking something a bit more repetitive at the moment.

I also show a few sneak peaks of Tanya from LittleThingsBlogged new crochet book. I’m taking part in Tanya’s blog tour to celebrate the release of Home Decorations in Crochet so I will be sharing more details and hopefully a finished project here on the 29th October. I’m excited to see what everyone else has been making. I’m contemplating a pattern using my gorgeous new yarn from West Yorkshire Spinners… I’ts so pretty I almost don’t want to use it! If you’d like to follow the blog book tour have a look at Tanya’s blog for details.

That’s about it for the crochet. My book recommendation for this podcast is Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine by Gail Honeyman. I just loved this book and finished it within four days of picking it up. I’ll direct you to the podcast if you would like to hear more about it 😉

I’m really enjoying vlogging my projects and progress for some reason it feels more interactive…like I’m actually having a conversation with those watching, isn’t that strange! Anyway, I will definitely continue to upload fortnightly but I will be back here next week with a finished project from Tanya’s book.

Bye for now. Em xx
