Crochet Podcast Episode 15

Hello. Just popping in today with the show notes for episode 15 of the lululoves crochet podcast…
{08.06.18}
Finished Items:
The only item I’ve finished is my crochet wall hanging to display my enamel pins. I’ve made this using some aran cotton yarn and finished it with the two Katia Yarns I bought a few weeks ago (Malibu and Louisiana). I’ve also crocheted up a couple of swatches in double crochet (US single crochet) to show how they look when worked in one piece. I’ve only used them on the edging of the wall hanging and for the tassels but I am absolutely in love with the effect. The pattern and tutorial for the wall hanging will be up on the blog in the next few days…I’ll link it here when it’s ready.

WIPS I’m still working on my crochet Victoria Shawl by Sandra Paul for the CherryHeartMal. I’m working in Drops Alpaca, although I’m pondering how to finish the shawl as I’ve run out of the main colour I’ve been using. You can find all the details of the Cherry Heart Make Along here. I’ve also resurrected a long-neglected design project from nearly two years ago! A blanket inspired by Hydrangeas. There’s a lot of rambling about colour choice and design possibilities…we’ll see how that one goes.

New Items:
I’ve ordered some Scheepjes Maxi sugar rush from Deramores to do some dainty doilies (I’m not sure when I think I’ll find the time) as they’ve been on my mind recently. Also purchased was a set of circular knitting needles by Knit Pro.
The books I’m talking about this episode are:

Scheepjes Yarn issue 5 of the Book-a-Zine I love this publication and I’m chatting about some of the projects I want to make from it… Including *shock* a blanket and the most beautiful table cloth.
Treasury of Crochet Techniques and Patterns – A vintage crochet book found in the local charity shop
The Curse of The Boyfriend Sweater – Essays on Crafting by Alanna Okun A beautiful book for anyone who crochets/knits or crafts…you will have to watch the podcast to see my thoughts on this book.
You can watch episode 15 of the podcast here.
I think that’s all for now, There’s a crochet wall hanging pattern to come and I will be back in two weeks with another podcast episode.
Bye for now, Em xx
