It’s half term this week so all the children are home – which means a good dose of chaos here! I’ve been working on lots of projects but as I’ve not had the time to photograph any I thought I would share some of the photos I took from the Kaffe Fassett exhibition last weekend…

A Life In Colour Exhibition

I’ve seen images of some of Kaffe’s quilts before but this was the first time I’ve been lucky enough to see his work close up. The exhibition had over 100 pieces on display and included textile, knitted, painted and mosaic works. 

I think what impressed me the most was his use of colour. I knew he was famous for it but being amongst all those colours and textures made me want to explore the way I use colour in my own work. I’m naturally drawn to muted/pastel tones but I’ve been inspired to push myself out of my comfort zone in the future!

The birthday girl had requested a trip to the Tate Modern so we spent a good couple of hours there before heading to Topshop! All in all a pretty colourful day out 🙂

Kaffe Fassett – A Life In Colour is on at the Fashion and Textile Museum, London, until 29th June.
