It’s been a while since I filmed an episode of my podcast but, despite half term chaos here, I’m back with episode 20…

Finished items:

I caught a nasty dose of stomach flu at the end of January and the sickness meant I just didn’t feel like crocheting. Oddly I didn’t have such aversion to knitting as this was all I wanted to do. So I have been able to improve my, much neglected, knitting skills ever so slightly.

Beanie Hat:

I found this pattern by for a very simple hat by Dakotah Knits. I used some 8mm needles but unfortunately, I ran out of the super chunky yarn I was using and had to cut it short! This has left me with a very wide and unusually short hat! But I am proud of it nonetheless.

Honeycomb Socks by Vita Apala

I finally finished the second of my Honeycomb socks and am so in love with them. The pattern is simple and easy to follow but the results are stunning.

Penelope Scarf by ME

I also finished my second Penelope scarf using James C Brett Rustic Aran with Wool. The free pattern and all the details are up on the blog here.

Sweetheart Potholders also by ME 😉

I created these cute filet crochet heart potholders just in time for Valentine’s day. So much fun! You can find the free pattern here.

WIPS:

Knitted Wristwarmers:

I then moved on to these super simple fingerless wrist warmers which are part of a series of free knitting patterns inspired by the TV series ‘Outlander’ by Handy Little Me. I really recommend these if you are new to knitting, I’m definitely going to be trying more from this series. I’m using Drops Nepal in FOG for these. Ps…I’m actually wearing the wrist warmers inside out in this photo…as I think I prefer them this side!

Crochet Rose by Ricorumi;

I bought this cute little booklet ‘It Must Be Love’ by Ricorumi full the sweetest patterns for the Ricorumi yarn…I wanted to make those gorgeous amigurumi swans. That’s a project for when I have more time, but at the weekend I started to make up lots of petals to make one of the beautiful roses featured in the book.

Five I’ve Shared Friday;

I’ve started a little series over on Instagram. Each Friday I will be sharing five images that have inspired me that week. I’m hoping it’s a good way to share and support other makers/designers whose work I admire.  The idea came to me after I was thinking of ways I could support more maker/designers following on from the important conversations on diversity that have been taking place in the knitting and crochet communities recently. I have been reading and trying to educate my family and myself so that we can cultivate a supportive community (not just online) where everyone feels welcome and safe. New Yarn:

I received a very generous parcel of new yarns to try from Marriner Yarns. They are a British company that focuses on affordable, good quality yarns. Their DK acrylics start from as little as £1 for 100g! Anyway, I’ve got a few projects in mind for my yarn and I’m squirrelling some away for an upcoming giveaway.
